FAQ

Our CPD programs are interactive informative and led by industry practitioners. Our objective is to provide and educate you on

  • Key areas as outlined in the CPD requirements
  • Bring your attention to matters that the regulator has raised
  • Suggest practical skills to resolve ongoing agency matters that you may have
  • Answer and general questions
But most importantly you get to walk away with a more comprehensive knowledge of what is required of you as a practicing real estate professional.
NSW Fair Trading is the state licensing regulator for property agents NSW. Under the legislation it is a legal requirement that you undertake annual CPD training. We recommend all prospective students read this link to NSW Fair Trading for further information.
Class 1 & 2 agents must complete a minimum of 5 hours of CPD training on compulsory topics relevant to the category of licence they hold each CPD year. Those 5 hours of training must include at least 4 compulsory topics relevant to the category of licence held.

Important:

Assistant agents should not do this CPD program. You should be completing 3 units of competency each year from the qualification known as the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice. You must do this each and every year over the 4 years. Assistant agents can complete any of the units from their Certificate IV qualification.
Some topics can be combined when they are delivered to licensees who hold more than one licence type, and some must be delivered as standalone.
Compulsory CPD topics that are the same for both categories only need to be completed once, and completion will count towards your compulsory topics for both licence categories.
NSW Fair Trading allows agents to undertake online independent learning without a trainer being present. However the agent is required to complete 10 hours of online training, which includes all compulsory topics applicable to the agent’s licence category and additional elective training to make up the 10 hours
The CPD year will commence on the 1st July and conclude on the 30th June the following year.
From 23 March 2023, Licensees-in-Charge are required to develop and maintain a training plan for all employed agents, inclusive of CPD. Don’t forget to update your training plans as you complete your CPD training each year.
Help request tickets: Communicate with your trainer using our help request ticket accessed through our student portal.
Support workshops:
We offer fortnightly online support sessions. These sessions are delivered on a drop in basis and attendance is voluntary
