It involves understanding property appraisal reports, negotiating a marketing plan with clients, creating marketing materials, acquiring resources, executing marketing strategies, utilising agency data to target markets, assessing the effectiveness of the plan and activities, and reporting on their efficiency.
 


This unit is intended for people already employed or aspiring to enter the real estate industry, utilising their knowledge of legislative compliance, ethical standards, and consumer preferences to oversee real estate operations.

Transact in trust accounts

This unit outlines the competencies and knowledge necessary for handling transactions within real estate trust accounts.


It involves understanding the purpose and various types of property trust accounts, implementing agency controls for specific transactions within these accounts, reconciling and reporting on transactions, and maintaining accurate records.


This unit is applicable to individuals currently employed in or seeking roles in real estate that involve managing transactions within trust accounts.

Note: Based on industry consultation our Assistant Agent Training Program includes 2 additional units beyond what is required with the state licensing regulator. This is to ensure our students are job ready when entering the real estate sector. If you continue on to study the class 2 licence you will be granted “Credit transfer”  for the 2 additional units you previously studied.

Assessment delivery, trainer feedback and marking are completed online within your dedicated student portal. Your portal is also your direct line of communication with your trainer or our support team.

Program timeframe

The time it takes to complete the program can vary depending on several factors, including prior study, availability, and work commitments.  

Typically, students can finish this training program in approximately 7 days.
   

At Archer Institute, all training programs follow a continuous admission process, and students have up to two years to successfully complete the program.

NSW Fair Trading is the state licensing regulator for property agents NSW. Under the legislation it is a legal requirement that you study as a minimum the prescribed units.

There is eligibility requirements set by the licensing regulator and we recommend all prospective students read this
link to NSW Fair Trading’s guidelines prior to enrolment with us.  

This training program doesn’t have specific educational entry requirements however to be eligible for a certificate of registration / Assistant Agent, you must:
 
  • be at least 16 years of age, 
  • be a fit and proper person to hold a certificate of registration, 
  • have the right qualifications for the type of certificate you are applying for, 
  • not be a disqualified person.
Important information   
  • A certificate of registration is issued for 4 years and is not renewable. 
  • Assistant agents must be employed by a licence holder and supervised by a licensee in charge who holds a class 1 licence in the same category of work being performed. 
To enrol you will need to complete an LLND (Language Literacy Numeracy and Digital Literacy) activity prior to commencing the program. This is to ensure you have the adequate skills and knowledge to progress through your training program and that we can also support you should it be identified you have an LLND area of concern.

You will also need to provide a USI (Unique Student Identifier). The USI is a unique code assigned to you that consolidates your training records into a single online record. It's mandatory for those undertaking vocational education and training (VET) in Australia. If you need to register for a USI, you can do so here.
Each year an Assistant Agent must complete three (3) Units of Competency from the qualification known as CPP41419Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, as their Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This training must be completed between 1st July and 30th June the following year.
